FIRST is always looking for new mentors to help out teams and we are no different. Anyone can help out a FIRST team, even if they don’t have traditional engineering and robotics skills. Mentor Roles and Team

Business Mentors

  • Teach students website design

  • Help students with fundraising

  • Assist students with award presentations

  • Teach the team about the importance of team image and branding

Control System Mentors

  • Research different architectures for the team 

  • Teach industry best practices

  • Break down tasks into consumable tasks

  • Help with code testing before real world use

  • Teach what software engineering is before arriving at college

Design and build Mentors

  • Help teach student with how to deal with limitations of all kind from budgetary to physics
  • Help the students refine and focus the ideas of the students
  • Help prompt communication between design and code team
